1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

get the GX. trust me. I have a guitar with EMG pickups and hate it. you can easily get as metal as you want with the GX pickups. But the EMG pickups will be WAY too prohibitive for anything clean.

This should be the title of all threads on SF.

Edit: Damn, this thread is too old to edit the title. Be happy about that pB!

Whoa! Never has this thread been so popular.

Pio, I feel like you can find a very old (60's?) Gibson or Supro small tube amp for something like $450.... if you want metal, just buy a Suhr Riot or something and you're there. Maybe spend a tiny more on an Ibanez DE-7 for delay, and you've got all the tones you'll need. That's what I'd do (but I'm weird).

Mrs. Piob killed the purchase. She asked a single question: do you really think you have the time/energy to practice? Damn her. She's a wise woman.

What's so funny? She's right. It will just sit there gathering dust.

But you'll know that if you want to play it's there. That's comforting knowledge to have.

Pio, do you have a Mac? Get some kind of Firewire soundcard, and you can plug directly into Garageband, which comes with a bunch of amp modelling and pedal modelling. It isn't amazing but it is ok and is super cheap, and you can record yourself.

Really? With that Alnico PU? I never was that impressed by them compared to a standard Gold Top. But, I also like a full bluesy sound when it comes to Gibsons.
