Okay, here's something strange. GC does not carry the Diamond compressor pedal.

I searched my local first then went national. Nada. S'okay, I just found it at a well established locally owned place. Will pick it up tomorrow or Friday.

If you are interested, follow Broken_Guitars on Instagram. Billy Schneider is the manager. He ran the show for Green Day for years. He also makes killer custom amps as in "there is a few year waiting list for them if you can even get on the list" kind of killer cool. I've known him since he worked at Black Market Music/Univibe when he was also the bass player in Billy Joe's other band Pinhead Gunpowder. Great guy. Down to earth and can build a Harley from scratch.

There are only two pictures on that account, and a comment on the first one is: "I would fuck a random homeless man for the TV Yellow [Les Paul Jr]"

Psg, could you tell the story again where you sold Keith Richards a Les Paul Jr?

    Yeah that's sexy.

Cherry red, white with gold hardware, ebony semi hollows and Pelham blue and mint green speak to me.

What do you mean by poly? Is it plastic or something?

Or do you mean the varnish? Is there something wrong with it?

yeah, usually recognizable by the nice gloss. Granted, polyester vs. polyurethane is something I'm not terribly well versed on. The latter (which that Tele has), tends to be much better overall, but doesn't really fade much, which I think kind of sucks.

Ah ok. So it's the fading you're after, in the same way that people like raw denim?

Would be a non-issue for me but interesting to hear your thoughts.

The important thing is my new pedals sound awesome. I wish I could get two weeks where I could think about nothing but music. That is never going to happen though.

If we're talking Teles and F-holes it's gotta be this!

Somehow a Tele with a bucker just seems wrong.

I'm with Gome on this. I prefer nitro finishes. I never knew there was a difference in finishes until a few years ago. The nitro doesn't look as candy coated shiny, it is a bit duller, and for whatever reason, maybe the thickness, the grain of the wood seems closer to the surface, as in you can almost see the ripples in the wood. Also, it won't protect the color from UV rays, which leads to fading, also it oxidizes so it will yellow with time and such. New poly coats were the "fix" for this and they do a good job. Some people claim nitro breathes whereas poly doesn't so it fosters the wood to dry out faster and also resonate more. Who knows.

It's not something I've ever thought about it tbh.
I've seen those cherry red teles and the finish is lovely - can definitely see the grain and they're not too shiny or anything.

Are all matte finishes nitro then? Does this necessitate that they'll wear out quicker? I certainly wouldn't want the wood drying out, and there's no need for it to resonate because it's an electric guitar.
