i tend to like things very low key, but pedals can be a blast to play with. The annoying part for me is when people have 4 types of fuzzes "well this one is slightly warmer than this one", etc. Or when people use pedals just for the sake of using them. Playing first.

I use batteries only since I'm convinced the pedals run quieter that way. There's probably no merit to that. But there is merit to the fact that I don't like looking at cords.

Also, **** these big power source stations. Get the Boss TU3 tuner, plus it into the wall, and then chain power your other pedals from the TU3.

I want something like the one I just posted. We're talking a few years to put this together so I'm in no rush. As you said, playing first, and I'm at very newb level status for that so this is my concentration.

IMO, a distortion, a fuzz, a chorus, a wah, and a reverb (if not on amp) are the most important for all types of rock and otherwise.

Stuff like flangers, phazers, and the like are on my list as cool to have but not necessary.

Seems to me if you don't have delay and looping you're not doing ambient.

yeah, that thing is awesome, I played one a few years ago. The tape reverse can get super whacky.

pedal. and PatrickBOOTH hasn't been around to poo poo pedals, so they've been talked about freely. That little slut doesn't even have an amp for his 13 pound Les Paul!

No wonder you think batteries are quieter.
