What about the princess and the queen? I have to imagine it draws from that. There's a lot (by necessity) of creative liberties that will be taken to fully flesh out the story. the source material is essentially an Encyclopedic overview of the war (and preceding/proceeding events) told from a few different maesters.
Big events and end results are written in stone, but there's a lot of wiggle room in between.
I have a feeling (correct if this has already been addressed somewhere) it's going to end on or around where Part I ends, which fully covers the Dance and subsequent rulers. Part II is expected (unless, of course, GRRM ***** with us all over again) to cover all future Targs up to Mad King Aerys. For Hot D and the Thrones-verse at large, I really hope they don't go that route.
That would REALLY take the wind out of Drunk & Egg's sails, which I know HBO wants to (and should) turn into a series of some sort.
otherwise yeah, that’s kind of what I thought.
I’ll read books/stories that spoil the show, but if they are mostly drawing from encyclopedia entries then I’d rather watch the show first than just read “historical accounts”
