There's a lot (by necessity) of creative liberties that will be taken to fully flesh out the story. the source material is essentially an Encyclopedic overview of the war (and preceding/proceeding events) told from a few different maesters.

Big events and end results are written in stone, but there's a lot of wiggle room in between.

I have a feeling (correct if this has already been addressed somewhere) it's going to end on or around where Part I ends, which fully covers the Dance and subsequent rulers. Part II is expected (unless, of course, GRRM fucks with us all over again) to cover all future Targs up to Mad King Aerys. For Hot D and the Thrones-verse at large, I really hope they don't go that route.

That would REALLY take the wind out of Drunk & Egg's sails, which I know HBO wants to (and should) turn into a series of some sort.
What about the princess and the queen? I have to imagine it draws from that.

otherwise yeah, that’s kind of what I thought.

I’ll read books/stories that spoil the show, but if they are mostly drawing from encyclopedia entries then I’d rather watch the show first than just read “historical accounts”

I'd hold off. There's no great story in Fire & Blood. Rather cut and dry. It's entertaining enough, but not the sort of book you tear through. Unless you need* to know what happens, I think going in blind will be the most fun as a reader/viewer.

I would get both Fire & Blood and The World of Ice & Fire, though, if only for the really awesome illustrative work.

*I needed to know what happened in Thrones before it aired, and decided to read through Dance With Dragons after Season 1 aired, assuming (stupidly) Winds and Spring would have been finished prior to the show's conclusion. A hilarious thought 11 years later.

Right up until Draco Malfoy's creepy little cousin steals the dragon, the latest episode was the most boring episode of Game of Thrones in the history of Game of Thrones...

Gotta say, outside the occasional sword fight, the whole thing just feels pretty meh… The changing actors are annoying, and I still have no idea what the central conflict is.

The only credible romance leaves me hearing that awful South Park movie song. :(

By Dothraki standards, all these westerosi weddings, except maybe the red wedding, are lame

And by the way...
The kid that stole the dragon then got his eye cut out had kind of a moon face, round nose.
The older brother was tall and lanky with a pointy nose.
So what do they do? On the time jump re-cast, they use a tall lanky guy with a schnoz for grown up moon-face.
And a flat faced guy for the gown up pointy nose kid.

SUCH AN ODD CHOICE. Swear I thought new/old Aegon was an entirely different character.
