I hate how the show has been butchering the book

Guess Mormont didn't get grayscale in the books then? Or Danny didn't marry someone from Mareeen?

I don't remember Tyrion and Mormont in a little ass boat getting attacked by stonemen or Barristan dying or Sansa doing anything with the Boltons or Jaime going to Dorne or...or...AND WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE DIREWOLVES? By my count only 2 out of 5 are dead

By cutting out and/or changing so many parts it removes many of the characters reasons and motives.

i'm fine with the "butchering" as long as they're doing a good job. storylines were already going past/diverging from the book material for awhile now. i dont want a re-enactment of the book. i want new stories. the books are never going to be finished.

seems like they're speeding up the process of tyrion meeting with daenerys. her governing in the book was so damn painful to read

I was expecting Sansa to meet the dire wolves at the kennel. But it was reek. :(

Oh that Branda girl. Nice T&A show. Cute too

There is a marriage subplot in Mareen, but it is much more drawn out and politically motivated.

Dany doesn't just waltz into a cell and say "we're getting married."

Being an avid reader I have almost always been disappointed in the translation of print to other media but as one who has not read a word of the GOT books I gotta say I think this show rocks

Is Bran still docked with a tree?

Wasn't it Griff who got greyscale in the books, not Mormont?

I'm with Ramsay on this. Sansa's an attractive girl, but I'd always have time for Myranda.

Pretty sure it is Dany who eventually succumbs to the pressure and agrees to the marriage. Walking into the cell and proposing it herself seems weird. If she believes herself to be the rightful queen of Westeros (as well as whatever places she conquers along the way), then her marriage is kind of a big deal.

Yes, but it looks like the Griff/young Griff story line has been removed

Jon Connington is my favorite character from the books who has never been and won't be introduced on the show.
Too complicated I guess. Unrequited love of Rhaeger who is raising his purported son based upon the efforts of Varys and Magister Illyrio.
    Slightly ahead of Wyman Manderley.

I'm going to assume that Varys is about to sneak back into Kings Landing

Last night pretty much clinched for me this show now sucks. I'm fine with altering from the book but do it in an interesting way that makes sense and facilitates plot and character development. I've noticed the show, in this and the last season at least, has a propensity to dwell on the mundane and banal and then gloss over what should be exciting and interesting stuff. No more Bran apparently, even Jon's dire wolf is MIA, BtB dead, no Strong Belwas, ugh.

I always found Bran's chapters this deep into the story to be incredibly boring so I'm not too upset that they don't seem to be checking in on that storyline (although I do agree with many that it is a "significant" story for backstory and plot development).

Jon Snow rushing down to save his horsefaced sister, who of course was his favourite sibling, from the Boltons made sense. But Sansa? She, like her mother, always despised him. It won't seem convincing to me.

And speaking of Arya, what about her wolf dreams and teaching herself how to skinchange?

And wasn't Briene physically pretty fucked up by now? Missing a chunk of her cheek as well as more than a couple teeth.

    ugh

To me, Bran's part in the show lacked direction or purpose so I'm glad they cut him out for now.

FYI- I never read the books nor do I plan on reading the books.

Bran's purpose is to illuminate the past and to uncover hidden secrets and lies
