A little info on the Mihara Yasuhiro collection:

"Struck by the way in which camo patterns resembled the clouds in traditional Japanese iconography, he had camouflage-pattern suits woven from kimono silk, using a technique over a thousand years old. And there was real gold thread in the weave to make it something precious, as a way of reversing camo's martial connotations.

"Reversal—inside-outside—was the idea behind the army green lining on a checked waistcoat, a navy trench, and a gray flannel parka. When the cuffs on a navy peacoat were rolled back, they revealed beautiful traditional embroidery. Mihara said he wanted to convey the notion that what was uniform on the outside was free inside—like the checked combat suits, a little bit dandy. The parka-poncho and flight jacket-poncho hybrids were the kind of winning tricks that Mihara has pulled off effortlessly in the past.

"The show's soundtrack was provided live by 'samurai guitarist' Miyavi. That was in keeping with Mihara's commitment to highlighting Japanese artistry, whether as traditional as Hosoo's kimono silks or as modern as Miyavi's sonic bombs."

Mihara was really nice, but my favorite part was the women's looks. :satisfied: Would definitely wear a lot of that stuff though.
Are there many Mihara stockists accessible to us Anglophones? What's the sizing like; should a 6'5" person even bother looking?

I also liked the Paul Smith and Hermes presentations more than I normally do, if only because of the color palette - dark blues and purples being favorites of mine.

Who stocks Christophe Lemaire online? LVR has some womens, which isn't that expensive.

The Mihara collection is really nice. I've always been interested in the clothing but have never found anything in my size. Sigh.

Thanks for posting all that from Mihara, I like that. I quite like the brand and I always make sure to check it out in person when I'm in Tokyo. Not sure I'd fit it though, I just check the racks but there's always some great stuff mixed with the decent-to-good. Pretty pricy though, iirc.

Miharaya looks great, one of my favorites. Really like what I see here from Christophe Lemaire, never heard of him before this thread.

Thom's show was comic genius, I really love the way he embraces the theatrics and absurdity of the runway show. He, along with others like WvG, seem to sort of get it
