1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Are they? I always felt like they had a waxy/plastic look to them.

For a casual shoe I don't think you can do any better. The wide, gentle rolls in cordovan add a lot of charm and cigar shell ages extremely well. I have a pair of AE MTOs in cordovan and they are the most complemented shoes I've ever owned.

How can we tell anything from your hipstamatic photo?

To me cordovan also looks plasticky, at least pictures online, maybe it would look better in person.

It does look better in person. You can't mistake calf and shell cordovan. The color is very rich and the creases are different. Also, I hear that it's more durable and requires less polishing and upkeep.

today's boot: [IMG] like acecow said, its a breeze to polish, maybe 15-20 seconds. I like to polish my shoes after a handful of wears because it really helps bring out the luster. even if you dont decide to polish them for a while, theyll look as good as new once you do.

Is this shell cordo discussion a fucking PSA? no? How about taking it to the 200 other threads on the subject then.

I spoke to Nathan, at the store in Wisconsin it was I believe. He was very friendly, so I'd go with him if you had no other preference.
