Looks like the placket and zipper heads on the Zip Jacket were moved from the right side of the jacket to the left.... :( Just one of those minor changes that really just kills it for me

Your comment piqued my curiosity, so I looked at the zip jackets I have and clicked through the archive on the site. Best i can tell, spring/summer versions have the zippers on the right, fall/winter have them on the left.

Doesn't look like last FW's editions didn't have the swap... which ones were you referring to?

@Blackmaged, yeah i see now. The backing placket (? not sure on the correct term for this) of the zipper has moved to the left-hand side of the jacket for the most recent iteration. The zippers themselves however, are on the other side for some iterations, like the olive corduroy from a couple years back.

Thanks for starting this thread @faue! Evan's quickly became one of my favorite designers over the past two years. I stopped by Glasswing yesterday to check out FW20 and it did not disappoint.

I ended up trying on the:
- Four Pocket Pant, Dark Olive Corduroy
- Single Pleat Pant, Lambswool Charcoal
- Field Shirt, Natural Brushed Wool Twill
- Flat Hem Shirt, Natural

I'm often in between sizes (S/XS) at 5'7" 135 lbs, but I could easily wear either depending on how I wanted it to fit. For anyone new to the brand, here are my thoughts on what I tried on:

Four Pocket Pants - Initially tried these on in a 30 and they were a pinch too loose in the waist. The EK website has them listed as a 15.5" waist laid flat and I'd say that's pretty spot on. The Size 28 was snug, but I figure they'll stretch with wear. The Corduroy has a soft hand with a subtle shine that reveals its green color when the light hits it. They're very nice pants with a great drape and the color makes them nearly universal with any FW outfit. I ended up grabbing these.

Single Pleat Pant - I was really, really excited about this pant last year. Evan did a nearly identical make-up that looked beautiful online. This year Glasswing had them and unfortunately they didn't work for me. The fit wasn't flattering in a Size 30 (I suspect a 28 would have worked better for me), and the fabric was slightly scratchy. This was disappointing because one of my favorite things about Evan's FW collections is how comfortable and soft they are. Generally, as a smaller guy I steer clear of loose fitting clothes, but these could look great on someone taller.

The Field Shirt - The Size S fit me relaxed & boxy, with longer sleeves similar to how it's styled on the Evan Kinori website. I preferred the Size XS (boxy, but more fitted in the chest and shoulders). The fabric was nice and soft, a bit lightweight though. The color was a somewhat plain, but you could wear it with anything. The sizing is quite consistent - as I'd last tried on the Field Shirt for SS19 and it was identical.

Flat Hem Shirt - I tried on Size S and thought it was really nice. I liked the dark buttons and slightly off white fabric. It had a nice structure and drape to it with the common boxy fit. I'd say this is a great starting piece for anyone getting into Evan Kinori

Anyways, hope this helps. If anyone has questions about what Glasswing has / what pieces are like in person happy to try to help.

Cheers,
Blake

@BlakeRVA great write-up! Very helpful to hear about how the clothes feel and fit in-person, especially for us east coasters where there aren't many in-person stockists.

Anyone know where I can find the natural and black herringbone bellows jacket in a size S? It's sold out in that size on EK's site. Although I'm not sure when I should go for a size XS. I have a SS field shirt in S that's definitely oversized on me but I think layers okay over a sweater.

The one from this season? It’s been selling out quickly with all stockists — both Reliquary and Glasswing had it, but the smalls sold out. CHCM still hasnt posted their buy online yet, so maybe watch there. I also know someone who bought it who has been waffling over whether to keep it or not, so I can reach out to him with an interest check too.

Yes, this season. I also notice that the measurements for the small differ.

Reliquary: S / 23" / 18.75" / 27.5" / 23.5"
EK website: S / 22.5" / 17.75" / 27.5" / 24"

Can anyone who has this jacket in small comment on the accuracy of the measurements? Seems a bit silly I guess with a jacket like this, but I'd probably lean XS if the reliquary measurements are accurate.

I'm not sure I'd want to buy it second hand with no ability to return it based on sizing, but I guess it can't hurt to ask.

It depends on how you want it to fit and where the Field Shirt fits oversized. The Field Shirt is intended to be a classic fitting overshirt with a cropped body and elongated sleeves as seen on EK website.

The Bellows Jacket is intended to have a relaxed fit and ample room for multiple layers underneath. Something I've noted with Evan's collections is each piece has a designated "function" he designs with and sizes accordingly. For example, each collection will have a variety of Base Layers (Shirts, Tees), Mid Layers (Knitwear, Overshirts, Popovers), and Outer Layers (Jackets and Coats). Keep this in mind with how you're sizing each piece. Notice how you'll often see three layers styled on his website, like this:

Anyways, I think you'd find XS fits you well across the board. As mentioned in my post yesterday, the sizing doesn't seem to change much at all - across seasons or individual pieces - whatever size you wear in EK you will always wear.

Cheers,
Blake

@BlakeRVA for reference, this is a quick pic of the field shirt layered over a shirt and a light sweater. I dont' normally have a second layer underneath since this is SS, so it definitely fits roomier in the shoulder than this when I normally wear it. I just have short arms, so I generally need to shorten or roll (haven't been to a tailor since covid).

Maybe if I'm supposed to just get the same size across the board S might be the way to go?

I think you'll find XS more flattering across the board for you.
