You're in the clear
So if anyone is wondering and for what it's worth: I ordered from Nomad and no customs fees (order was ~$400).
In my experience Royal Mail is fine. It's FedEx and UPS that you have to worry about. Of course it sounds like it all depends, but generally the post office doesn't seem concerned with customs oddly enough.
As for VAT, you probably should have sorted that before ordering. I had a sizing question from them over the Summer and got a very quick reply, so you might want to reach out. Some places (Coggles, Liberty) don't deduct VAT at all (which is IMO complete bullshit and reason to never order from them).
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with shipping from Trunk Clothiers. Their site says they use Fedex, which fucking sucks, but I was wondering if they mark their stuff down like TBS.
is DHL good now for oi polloi or is it just hit or miss? i recently just placed an order and from my experience with couriers i asked them if they offer alternative shipping options.
How much in duties can I expect to pay on roughly a $300 purchase from wrongweather?
I think around 20%.
Stupid question, but the NAFTA still holds if I buy a product from Europe? Say a pair of Vibergs from Superdenim.co.uk?
Anyone order from Por Vocacao before? Duties/customs fees?
Can you elaborate? What I can tell you is that Superdenim does mark down the value of the package, they have for me every time and that includes an order of 4 pairs of McNairys, and shipping is quite fast. Can't remember the carrier they use, but it's fast and they mark down the package. 3-4 orders last year and never been hit with customs.
Ordered from nomad, did not get hit.
ordered from acrimony, $10 handling fee and taxes. not complaining.
I should be getting something soon. I'll let you know how it all turns out...
Should I be expecting fees from wrongweather?
Separate names with a comma.
