Founded in 1960 by a young Åke Nordin, the brand quickly grew among Sweden's outdoor sporting community due to Nordin's innovations in backpack construction and the introduction of G-1000, a durable, highly water resistant fabric originally used as a tent cloth. 50 years later, we're happy to offer men's and ladies' jackets from Sweden's number one outerwear brand in this highly versatile fabric. G-1000 is a unique, tightly woven 65% polyester, 35% cotton fabric that is waxed for a water-repellent finish. In warm, dry weather, wash your jacket to increase the breathability in the fabric, or in cold, wet weather, apply Fjällräven's specially formulated Greenland wax to stay dry.
