They showed a graphic explaining the rule during the Georgia game. My understanding is that the only way a player can stay in the game after losing their helmet is if it happened as a result of a foul. So, basically, a facemask penalty that makes it come off means you can stay in the game, but, if you're tackled by the head in a clean tackle and it comes off, you have to leave.

VT pulls out an ugly win against GT. Logan Thomas need to tighten up.

I can't wait for this weekend's games. I'm stoked to see how the new SEC newcomers stack up.

Any worth watching for the casual fan? Seems like the first month of college football consists of Power U. v. Podunk Community College.

    I think that's a real possibility.

Both of the games involving the new SEC teams should be worth watching.

UGA - Mizzou is probably the game of the week, and it could be really interesting to watch. Georgia's defense is nasty, so it will be cool to see it match up against Mizzou's video game offense. I'm especially curious to see if Georgia's pass rush can screw with Mizzou's QB enough to disrupt him. Speaking as a Georgia fan, I'm also looking forward to seeing how much of Georgia's "blahness" against a cupcake last week was a combination of not getting fired up for a nobody, running an intentionally vanilla game plan, and looking ahead to this week's game. On paper Georgia is dramatically better, but we'll see if that translates to actually playing the game, especially given Mizzou has most of the emotion in their favor.

UF - Texas A&M is interesting, too, both because it's A&M's first SEC game, and because I think it might serve as more proof that UF has really, really lost its mojo.

My actual dog always gets all nervous when I bark at the TV during UGA games. I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm nuts. Which may be true.

GO DAWGS! SIC 'EM! Woof woof woof woof!

I read an article somewhere saying that UF is having to fight really hard to get over the screwed up culture they developed while Urban Meyer was coaching. Rampant favoritism and disregard for the rules for the top players.

One of my dogs, named Puga, barks when I say "Go Dawgs" to her. :slayer:

The other one is named Gator. :fu:

I've read that, too. A lot gets said about how Meyer "left the cupboards bare," but the stuff I've seen said that isn't the problem as much as the absurd way the program was run internally.

Hmm, no wonder Urban Meyer became sick at Florida - he sold his soul to the Devil at that time.

2 BCS National Championships in 4 years and 3 BCS bowl wins before the age of 45. What coach wouldn't do that? Nick Saban doesn't count since he is the Devil himself.
