Chile has some nice ball movement up front, a little more control and they could have had a goal.

This is incorrect.

This is correct.

The only leagues where the Jabulani was used was the MLS and the Clausura in Argentina. It was also used in the 2009 Club World Cup and the 2010 African Cup of Nations.

I have to believe that the altitude has to be affecting the ball somehow.

I don't understand why they keep f*cking with the soccer ball. Is it
tinfoil.gif
to think they've made an unpredictable ball on purpose? Seems there are complaints about the ball every WC.

Given the way he hit the ball, the power behind it and the direction, he could have only been shooting.

yeah the commentators on the blogcast or whatever you want to call it were questioning it, so I'm sort of needling. I tend to agree that the force, at least, indicates he was shooting, but sometimes I think they just fire it in there hoping for a carom.

Gullit made a persuasive point last night on ESPN: Maicon shot with the outside of his right foot not the inside. Very likely he meant to shoot it. Having seen Maicon's exploits with Inter, I believe Ruud is correct.

Regarding the ball, it's funny that some were saying that the Germans didn't have a problem with it against Aust. Well, it was played in Durban at sea level plus the Germans has had a chance to play with it since Feb. Altitude will make the ball flies. Too many overshot crosses.

Maicon scored a similar goal against Portugal. In this position, this guy is deadly.
