What's up everyone,

In need of some quick advice..

I'm looking for a few pairs of good Chinos that I can potentially wear around the office (on rainy days), and also during the spring..

I was thinking along the lines of Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, Uniqlo, and BR, but wanted to explore the possibility of other options.

Does anyone have advice on other brands I should be willing to try out, or are these the top choices for Chinos?

Much appreciated, thanks!

What is your price range? And how important is price vs quality?

Price range... Max 150$ (I'd prefer to keep it around ~$80, but I'm a glutton and a fool..

Price vs. quality.. I definitely want them to last so "decent" quality maybe 7/10.

I really appreciate the quick response you gave thanks!

What would you suggest for around 100 not on sale?

Also, AFAIK HY is web-based.. Any recommendations on sizing, etc?

The only turnoff (although I know their quality is par none) is that they don't have many pictures of what their pants look like on people, only folded.

Not too big a problem but it's nice to see.

(One of the major reasons I'm looking for pants is because I pretty much water damaged my AE Strands this past week in a rainstorm here in NY, so grabbed me some Bean Boots which I want to be able to wear in the office without having to change to dress shoes.. and I want a pair of pants or three that I can wear with the boots, or during the spring/summer) .. I'm definitely open to other options as well!

I have a pair of Brooks Brothers Advantage chinos. Although I avoid non-iron stuff like the plague, these are very nice. They are dressier since the material looks quite smooth, and they come creased. I've hardly done anything to these trousers, including only having washed them once and maybe ironed them once, and they still look like new...the crease never dies. They feel soft and breath well. Limited colors, though.

If you are in New York, and have some reservations about buying purely online, you could try a variety of chinos in person. This is one of our affiliate vendors and a personal friend, and I personally don't wear chinos (so, full disclosure) but I have heard good reviews from a variety of people, and I can vouch for the friendliness of Mike, Adele, and the rest of the crew:

Their rivet chinos (on that page) are pretty popular here, as are the Walts. Probably someone who has a few pairs (and there are many members here with that) could comment on the fit, but really, nothing beats a real life try on.

Those epaulets actually look superb... I didn't know they were only 135, I thought all epaulets was over the 200$ mark!

I'm definitely moving them to the top of my list thank you so much LA..

I still want to see if there are any other options but that seems to be #1 for brick and mortar with HY coming in second

I own a pair of Walt chinos and the construction is superb, with extra material in the waist and seat and perhaps 3 inches extra at the hem. Size wise they seemed to me one size too small. I usually take a size 32 waist in all trousers, and I had my Epaulet Walts size 32s taken out an inch and now they are perfect.

That's great to hear thanks for the quick review :D

I wonder if there's a big difference in quality between HY and Epaulet..

I don't have much time to research right this minute but I'm going to try and get at it a little bit later and bring back my findings

I have several pairs of Land's End chinos for office wear and they're stellar. I have a pair of navy chinos in my rotation that has lasted me two years so far. Check out their tailored fit selection. They routinely go on sale too, so you can buy several pairs for under $150.

I can vouch for all of this. Mike and Adele are great and so are their products. I have a few pairs of Rivet chinos and they are a great buy....I'm actually wearing a pair right now.
