is there a recommendation for a Trickers last for a somewhat narrow foot? Allen Edmonds 511 or Crockett and Jones 228 lasts are examples of a good fit. My impression from just viewing on the internet is that most Tricker’s would be best for a wider foot. But I could be wrong?
If you like the look, the Monkey Boots/Ethan last (54024R) is a narrow fitting last.

@CaryGooper I think as long as you avoid the 4444 you'll be okay. The 4497 could be problematic but it's worth a try since it's by far the most commonly used country last. In addition to the mentioned 2298 there's also the similar fitting 81 but it's not as common. And as mentioned the 5402 if you dig monkey boots.

Album first...

Gentlemen, I present the Sign Kudu Crafty Edition!

Arrived today..wowwwww!

Origin of the species..

I have long considered altering some of my shoes to individualise them or refresh..

Had a good chat with Anthony of [email protected] about this. I have some awesome boots in the works now with him but we got to talking about my dream boot and what it would be.

Sign Kudu
Eaton
Ridgeway
Leather mid sole (dyed antique to lessen the impact of natural welt)
Red lining and pull tabs...

Ok then, why don’t we order one....

Deal done!!

Arrived today and to say I’m pleased is an understatement . Absolute minter!!

Anthony is considering ordering some in for stock so if you are interested it would not be an MTO as such but would be standard Trickers pricing because he was prepared to get some in for his stock. Possibility of changing lining or heal tabs, reds my lucky colour so that’s why I wanted red! I even suggested a black Kudu tongue which would look amazing with the burnished sign Kudu...

The welt came natural and Shoe Healer dyed it this colour which is what I wanted. They come natural which is how it can be left, I’ve added those pictures to the pack above.

Just to confirm I have no affiliation to the store and like to promote all our independents but this boot and service was top top notch.

Amazing boots @Crafty Cumbrian

Are these your 1st Ridgeways? I like the red lining!
I’ve got Ridgeway on some c and j and strangely coming on the next MTO.

What I like is aesthetically they look like dainite from the side (not as chunky as commando). Plenty of grip and slightly more spring than dainite...

Bloody love these...❤️

those look great. is your Eaton on 4497 or 4444?

iirc mine were on 4497

that kudu leather color is called "sign"?
Hi,

Yes these are on 4497s last. I prefer the slightly wider fit although I have an Eaton on 2298!

Yes the three colours Trickers use are
Caramel (caramel colour!)
Polo (dark brown)
Sign (like a burnished burgundy).

I think when some of my current lineup are due a resole I fancy giving ridgeway a try.

I find dainite quite hard and commando picks up so many stones etc

Leather soles are nice and quite comfortable in my experience but a bit impractical in a wet climate.

Not a leather fan, too damn wet here!

Got a Rendenbach sole en route (none Trickers related content..) which are supposed to be ok with water. Watched a piece on them and apparently the tanning process makes them actually stronger in water!
