Thoughts and on flexi welt shoes? Looks like no midsole?

The red suede Robert on sale looks intriguing…

Great stuff. You won’t regret the choice. :)

Tax is around 30 percent these days? About the same as getting stuff into the EU I guess.

Thank you . Yes tax might be somewhere in that vicinity, unfortunately.

I’ve purchased from tzlaces.com and their products are decent.

They ship via postal service. No idea what costs to India are like but UK to US wasn’t bad. They’re on Amazon but it was cheaper to order direct.

Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for posting this,I looked at the Stow which were very nice but they didnt have a 10.5.
I looked around the site and found these made by Cheaney for Pediwear and reduced in the sale....arriving tomorrow.
So I am still on the lookout for my first pair of Trickers after missing the Kudu Stow and Bourton in the sale. View attachment 1642739

Congrats on the purchase. Yes the remaining chestnut Stows are only in 8.5 and 10UK, I think. Believe this particular MTO has been on Pediwear for quite some time and they are now near the end of stock for this model.

My first pair of Trickers is finally in my hands. Here is how it went:

Placed the order on Monday with Pediwear, after accidentally stumbling on to the chestnut Stow MTO specific to Pediwear. I had been a long time drooler about Trickers' unique designs, especially the Stows. The massive welts and famed indestructible build quality of Trickers caught my eye and fancy for many months, even more so once I joined this forum and started browsing the phenomenal pictures on this thread. The full list price kept me at bay. However, at the Pediwear price of 245 GBP, jumped onto the bandwagon. It is the most expensive shoe purchase that I have undertaken, being but a beginner in the world of goodyear welted shoes.

Anyhow, after a couple of hiccups with the payment, the order and payment was completed on Wednesday afternoon Indian time. Got a pleasant surprise this morning when DHL informed me that the package had already cleared customs today and was on its way to be delivered to me. Around 8 pm Indian time, the big heavy parcel was in my hands. That is blazing fast, really. 48 hours from payment to my door from the UK.

The smell of high quality leather that hits the nose when one unboxes a good pair of shoes is truly intoxicating. I was a little circumspect on the chestnut colour, not knowing what to expect. But the rich reddish brown leather which emerged out of the famed blue Trickers box laid all apprehensions to rest. The colour is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for. Rich chestnut brown with some mild reddish undertones. These babies should patina wonderfully over the years with the right care, and I am looking forward to that. Now for the first few wears and the initial break in!

Thanks to everyone on this thread for inspiring Trickers newbies like me to dive into this bottomless pit ? A few pictures of the baptism. Apologies for the bad lighting, since it is late evening here. Will take better pics in the daytime tomorrow and post soon!

As an update - I think the stars were aligned this time around and there was zero customs duty charged for the shipment to India. A rare occurrence indeed. Super kicked about this
Ha ha ha that’s awesome! Enjoy! I do think that sometimes agents get lazy to worry about the duty for individual use items so you can get a pass. Great that it worked out.

As promised, a few more pictures of the chestnut Stows. This time from my balcony, on what is a gorgeous balmy sunny morning here. Still in the phase of just ogling at and admiring these beauties and their construction. Yet to take them out on their maiden run. Probably need to do an initial conditioning before that. :)

Beautiful colour. What temps you talking about here? As for the conditioning you won’t need it for a while i’m sure, although maybe the others on here may be better placed to say if that helps the break in somewhat.

Thank you! This is Bangalore, so among the best cities climate wise in this neck of the woods. It's a maximum of 26 degrees and minimum of 19 degrees Celsius. Lovely sunny weather too, with a few mild drizzles every now and then :)

Beautiful first pair. ?

....now if one could only stop there.....;)
Haha indeed. Which brings me to a very important newbie question directed at all the experienced Trickerheads here. Which time of the year are the best known sales to be found for Trickers? Is it Black Friday, Christmas etc or any other times ? Also, which are the most popular websites for these sales ?

Trickers Outlet and also the Sample sale. Some of my favourite pairs have been from there. Also a lot of independent vendors like Yoox constantly had discounts.
