Did not know Trickers offered 9 hole boots(not fully laced in photos).

Seven hole is their boot offering I would go for. Cheaney nine hole did not suit my high instep and the closeness of the holes meant space was rather cramped.

Keep a close eye on Mr.P. They did a collaboration last year with Tricker’s and the Cordovan Robert PTBs (Black & Colour #8) and a Chukka (Bourbon or Whiskey) used Horween Cordovan. It may happen again.

Interesting makeups. The Chukka, unlike other Tricker's Boots that I have, came in a thinner (single?) leather sole. These occasionally pop up on eBay as well.

The quality of the Comipel Shell from Tricker's has been good in my limited experience. I especially like the depth of color and shades of expresso in my Black Roberts!

I was pissed that I missed out on the Bourbon Chukka Boots but managed to score the Black and Colour #8 Bobby PTBs.

The Craftys...

The clicking is really awful. I fell at work today and got that scar in the leather; I'm lucky it was on the Tricker's, because the leather is thick as hell and the rugged look makes it OK anyway.
Is it not the burnishing that’s inconsistent? I find each pair totally different, only had one click related issue, the boots sans burnishing look totally (inferior..) different in my opinion. I’ve pairs that are consistently dyed which look like another colour.

thanks to @FondDeJante for the heads up on these NOS Otleys. They’re an 8.5 6 fitting so should be ideal. Seem a little snug straight away..

smell like an old saddlers workshop from my childhood. My dad used to jump horses (not like evil kneivel- he rode them..).

Nice! I think my vintage veldtschoen has some sort of a similar smell.

Just sold mine sadly, had to accept that the fit wasn’t ideal.

Those look amazing though, great buy.
