They are true heavy duty footwear…Maybe not to the extreme of my Limmer boots, but along the same spectrum in terms of sheer armorclad impenetrability and reluctance to accede to anything as simple as a mere human foot. I think they’re fantastic.
However.... I ordered some suede derbys today for those times when I’m looking for a less dramatic footwear experience.
Crafty Eatons...
moccasin brownNice, what colour is that?
Here you goI'll take some pictures a bit later and post them here for you.
Scrutinizing my boots something about my new Sheene in Olivvia deer skin that I felt was different but I didn't immediately notice is that the overall sole, even though they have the Commado, is that they are thinner.

Where as all my other Tricker's have two layers of leather plus the bottom sole these new Sheenes only have one.

Looking at a Sheene (below) from 2012 it obviously has the 2 layers plus the Commado sole making for I'm sure a much stiffer boot.

Same for the custom Tricker's Belstasff Phoenix which is the same as the Sheene

The current Adstone and Burfords with Olivvia deer skin and Suede Stows only have a single layer also.

Anyway just thought I'd point this out... and as long as the boots maintain the same durability I don't really have a problem with them, they are obviously more flexible but one will probably need to pay more attention to when the soles need replacing.
Those look great - an absolutely classic example of what an English heavy brogue should look like. Bomb proof.

......
Shame about the single layer sole, for me it detracts from the Tricker's aesthetic
