AFAIK, Bourton, Ilkley, and Keswick are all the same style just differing in soles and materials. Standard c shade Keswicks are wide fit but I have a pair from a Bureau make up that are medium width. It wouldn’t surprise me if Trickers have some secret decoder ring for determining which is which.Anyone have the Ilkleys? Do they fit the same as the Bourtons?
I’ve got a strong desire for a Bourton In a grained leather with commando soles. So a black Ilkley would be good or maybe a green scotch grain and change the sole.
Some brown Saphir love last night. The pair on the right are AS exclusive but hang very nicely with their Trickers friends. View attachment 1436187
........I just did a bit of welt darkening/colouring
......
For anyone wondering I used Saphir Teinture Francaise (01) Black (applied with a small paint brush rather than the included dauber) for the main colouring, and then finished it with a bit of Saphir Pommadier Cream and some Pate de Luxe wax. There was also some masking tape involved
Big fan of Tricker's here. I just did a bit of welt darkening/colouring on two recent pairs that originally came with the natural welt and I thought I'd share a few pictures for anyone that might be curious.
These are the Coffee and Cafe Burnished. (Often available at a bit of a bargain price from various dealers from what I can tell).
Quite a different look to the original, which I also quite like, but I thought it turned out rather well.
Before picture of the Coffee (didn't get a before picture of the Cafe):

Nice contrast.....
Might just try this on my Tricker's Stows by Paul Smith.

as it was the picture I found on Flickr showing their potential that won me over for my purchasing decision.

I actually like the colour of welt on your boots. It will naturally end up like the other photo I believe.

impressive work! I sometimes like the natural welt but I think yours look great with a stained welt.
No idea, an eBay special. Inside they just say "DARREN JOHNS", I don't know if this is the model or the customer. The leather is like butter and they fit me really well. They have a fiddled back and a Dainite sole. One of my fave pairs. They looked a bit plain in flat brown but have started to pop with a little polish.I like the look of those AS. Is that model still available?
Really nice job. I always worry about how to keep natural welts clean when polishing. Now I will be confident if I need to dye them.Big fan of Tricker's here.
