Agreed.

I tend to wear boat shoes if it’s really hot. Not a massive fan of trainers although I had some lovely Varvatos Cons I lost at a hotel!

I think people wear them all year now even though marketing leads you to believe items are seasonal.

Had my caramel Stow on the other day and it was baking, agree with Msaint re sock choice. I’ve started a new fetish of sock buying now!! Like thin wool socks !!
Your work makes such boots suitable. I observe other people - many of whom wear awful, AWFUL footwear - and I have to say that when people wear dark boots in warm weather, it doesn’t look clean.

MR porter sale will go live Tuesday. For North America. Not sure about Europe.

Go have a look and see if anything “seasonal” is of interest to you.

Can anyone comment on the fit of the Woodstock?. I'm considering a pair of kudu woodstocks. I'm normally a UK9. My Stow Kudus in 9 are slightly generous so wondering if I should go down a half size?.

Isn't the Gloucester Quays store the same as the Trickers Outlet.com site?. I presume there is stock which is not displayed on the Outlet site?.

I've seen them list more sizes on their Gloucester Quays Instagram posts than what's available online.

Sounds safe to do.

I have a pair of kudu Woodstock in size 9. I have been wearing them with my thicker socks. I know for sure that if I went down half a size they would work well with medium and thinner socks. Better for the warmer months. In short, size down.

I have some Woodstocks with a leather sole and I'm finding that I'm slipping all over the place when it rains. I want to get them resoled, probably with a dainite sole (unless anyone has any other suggestions?). Is the best thing to send them back to Trickers to do? I'm based in Spain.
Also, I've been wondering if (and this might be a stupid question) it's possible for Trickers to change the welt on shoes. I think these brown shoes would look better with a natural welt. Any opinions on this?
Finally, it's obviously the way I walk, but I've already worn down part of the heal - and I've probably only worn the shoes a dozen times. Any suggestions about what I could do with this? (see photo).
Thanks in advance.

The rubber on the heels always wears down quickly. Just get them re-heeled by a local shoe repairer. You could also ask them to add a rubber outsole for you - this would be a cheaper option than getting Trickers to replace the leather with dainite.
I’m sure Trickers could replace the welt for you but my guess is that it would be crazy expensive.
If you don’t have a local shoe repairer I can thoroughly recommend the Shoehealer in Doncaster, UK. They’ve done fantastic work for me including changing one type of sole for another.

I think that Shoehealer now offer a facility via their web site where you can get a quote for the work you require and you then mail your shoes them.
