Any advice on fitting the W2298 from barrie/Viberg 2030/MMM Gats sizing?

I go with same size as Viberg 2030. So if you're a 10 in Viberg = 10 UK in 2298. It's more of a dress last, not as generous in the toe, so would not advise sizing down.

Posting for the first time in this thread to share my first Tricker's that I got from the sale. Really happy about nailing my size AND getting more than what I paid for. :)

Excellent choice! From which sale was that?

Thanks! To be completely honest I do not know much about the brand but I knew I had to try them and the Mr. Porter sale was my opportunity. Fit, craftsmanship and style all on point. Happy camper here.

Took my new stows out for a test drive. Man these things are chunky.

Looking good!

I remember when I first started wearing Tricker's boots, they felt like solid plaster casts on my ankles as the felt so rigid. They soon loosened off and became very comfortable after a couple of weeks of regular wear.

I also noticed that driving in them was tricky as the wide welts would catch the other pedals. It sure wakes you up when you catch the brake pedal when you mash the clutch to change gear (stick shift). I soon learnt to accomodate the extra width.

Thanks for the words of wisdom Englishshoes. Luckily I drive automatic these days, but it will probably still take some getting used to.

I'm interested in the brown calf stow that herring has on sale, but it's on the 4444 last vs the normal 4497 last and is supposed to be a half size large. I'm a US 8D and a 7.5 in some of the larger boots like Alden Indy/Red Wing IRs, would 7UK be the right fit? I emailed herring but they recommend going all the way down to a 6.5... seems way too small.

I go down half a size for the 4444 last. But that's from Stow to Bourton. A full size does seem extreme to me but Herring know their stuff.

I'm about a US 8E, give or take. I have Matlocks (6 fitting) in a UK7 that fit ok with thick socks. The Maltons in 7UK (same last) don't work as well on account my narrow heels. Need to change the lacing. The 4444 in UK7, 6 fitting, was much too big. 6.5 next time.

For me
US10.5 Alden Indy, RW IR
UK9.5 4497
UK9 4444
