I am trying to decide between the Stow or the Derby in the Burnished Coffee. STP has one of each in my size. Im usually pretty decisive when it comes to shoes but I am torn between the two. [IMG]
the derby is smaller than the stow, if that helps

Not sure if anyone can help me with sizing but here's what I wear in other shoes brands.

Allen Edmonds: 8.5 e-- Slighty, slighty wide yet more comfortable than 9.0D, extra length
Clarks Desert Boots-- 8.5D-- Good in regards to width, yet slight long in length.
    Adidas Stan Smith-- 9.0D
LL Bean Engineer Boots-- 8.5 D-- Good fit when tightened up.

I know this aient the typical shoe profile for a Trickers' buyer, but I'm hoping one of you might be able to give a suggestion.

    BTW I'm looking at the Tricker's Woodstock/Keswicks

For anyone interested, the PSxTrickers DO run TTS, if anything a little large. I went into Jermyn St today, where the very helpful staff pointed out my error: I'd thought that the 8.5 written inside denoted just size- in fact it means 'size 8, width fitting 5'. A very common mistake, it seems.

The 4444 last does run nearly half a size bigger than the Stow, though, and they think they may be able to stretch the shoes out enough to fit me. So i'll update with pics in a week.

btw the shop also had a red/white/blue model, i think stow, similar to the isetan ones GS posted, and some other interesting distressed suede finishes. if anyone's interested i might take some pics when i go back next week.

I bought both the wingtip shoe and the faux Stows from STP. To me, they fit the same.
Also, I found that these things stretched out more than just about any shoe I've owned.
The faux Stows were borderline too tight in width when new. I put shoe trees in for a couple days and that seemed to loosen them enough that I figured I'd risk not returning them. A couple days of wearing and they'd stretched out even more. Still can't wear thick socks with them but I'm happy.

Yeah, Tricker's half sizes are marked with an "H". As in 8H.

I bought 'em both. Btw, are these Trickers? http://www.orvis.com/store/product.a...ubcat_id=11957 That piece of leather on the tongue looks identical to a pair of AS boots that I own. I always have trouble distinguishing between the two companies.

I thin those Orvis boots are Sargents.

in my experience (about 5 pairs of half sizes) they are marked with a "1/2", never an H.

Hmm, just checked my pairs. I have 4 marked h, 1 marked 1/2 and one with a scribble that could be either.

AS boots look very similar to Trickers. Unless you know the specific differences, really hard to tell them apart. In this case, these look like the STP Trickers in burnished coffee. I like the scotch grain on the AS though. Just my opinion
