Woodstocks are a derby and the other a blucher, I believe. Also, Tricker's often gives special names to particular makeups with specific types of soles. A Woodstock typically has a leather sole, and the "Matlock" a commando.

Ah yes. Just paid my invoice for the navy Roys.
Remember to ask to ship via Parcel Force to avoid customs fees.

Made a visit to the Jermyn St store just before Christmas and it was so underwhelming. Feels rather worn-out compared to the shoe stores along the same street. Was expecting it to be more polished.

Where they having a holiday sale while you were there? I have seen the store in two different configurations. During regular season, I found the store to be quite nice. During sale season, they remove all the glass cases, displays, and custom makeups and replace that with wooden shelves with rows of sale shoes and boots. I wonder if you hit at the sale time?

Yes, they were having holiday sales when I was there but it was more about the general condition of the store which felt worn-out. Of course it didn't help that shoes were displayed like bargain bins items.

As a comparison, the Barker Shoes store at Regent Street was also having holiday sales but was way more presentable despite being at a slightly lower price point.

Nice. If I weren't up to my ears in mid to dark brown workboots I would cop.

I know what you mean Meso, I have more than enough too, but I couldn't resist. You don't get many boots on the 4444 last and never in my size, especially for that price. :)
