These just came in, red lollipop cavelier. Love how these remind me of retro high top sneakers. Have to grab some matching laces though

I am still trying to confirm sizing with Richard. Does anyone know about the 81 last? I am a UK 7・5 F in Edward Green.

Whixh last in eg are you 7.5f width? I'm a uk11.5e on the 888 and 82 last and fits snug but a uk11.5e on the 606 and 202 last i have plenty of wiggle room in the toes. Went with uk11 (5 fit) on 81

    Thanks!

So even though last 81 is a smarter city last, you think it is sufficiently roomier than the 888 to choose 1/2 size smaller than your size in the 888?
English made shoes that fit for me:

    Edward Green
    last 888
    size 7.5 F balmoral
    size 8 E blutcher

    last 606
    size 8 blutcher

    John Lobb last 8000
    7 EE blutcher

Based on this Richard recommeded 7.5.

Bought my very first pair of Ebay Tricker's from Retricker1829, unfortunately...they weren't as described... they were even better! Thanks for the heads up on these @NAMOR , would have totally missed them

    • Nickel/Brass eyelets instead of White (so much better than white)
    • Brown tab instead of Green
    • Tan lining instead of Green

These are seconds, the above must have been the defects [IMG]

I also just picked up my first pair of Trickers, also a colored pair off ebay. They're described as "calf leather". The leather is much stiffer than any of my other shoes. I've worn them a few times and they don't seem to be breaking in much.

Are the colored leathers stiffer than other types?

I'm looking at my first pair of Tricker's boots in either Navy or Mogano Shell Cordovan. What do you guys think? I love the navy but I'm wondering if it'll get as much use as the Mogano.

OK, so I'm having difficulty drumming up interesting for the C&J Dundee GMTO (need 12+ for the GMTO to happen). I started thinking it might be a good idea to see if Trickers could get a similar makeup going.

Would anyone be interested in the following makeup:

Trickers Eaton Medallion Cap-toe With Punching
    W2298 Last
    Mogano shell
    Slightly higher leg (5 eyelets & 3 speed-hooks)
    Gunmetal hardware
    "Antique" Barbour welt
Double leather sole with "Antique" edging (or dark grey Dainite if preferred)
    Dark brown stitching
    Regular lining
    Dark brown laces
    Pull-tab

    £412.50 (exc. VAT).
~$636 shipped using ParcelForce (will vary slightly depending on rate).

    PM with questions.

Boot would look similar to this:

I had heard that lollipop cavalier - one of my favorite leathers - had been discontinued by Horween about a year ago from Richard, but then END just came out with a boot and even a shoe - as I recall - in it, so who knows??? Maybe that was in the works a while ago, but it seems some more keeps trickling out from Tricker's...

Would anyone be able to tell me how the Trickers W2298 fit compare to the Tricker's 4497?

They're a bit narrower; they have slightly less room in the toe box.

So sizing down 1/2 a size would be ok?

I actually take the same size. When I've tried the 2298 a half size up from the 4497, it was off just enough that it didn't work. It really depends an the shape of your foot.

So if the 2298 has my heel slipping a little then going half a size down would probably make sense since they're a little wider and wouldn't be too tight.

Just so we're clear: the 2298 is narrower i the toe box than the 4497. You're slipping in the 2298?
