I just bought a fabulous pair of "Not Stows" from STP. They're a size 9 UK, which is my typical size in Church's.

I'm finding them to be extremely tight. I've worn them about 10 times now, and I find a lot of pressure on the back of my heel and an extreme amount on the side of my pinky toe. Furthermore, I noticed that my big toe is about a centimetre and a half from the front of the shoe, and makes a squeaky sound against the leather top of the shoe when I walk.

Am I wrong to say these are far too tight, or are they just breaking in?

I love these from The Shoe Healer, but curious, has anyone dealt with the Yellow Danite soles? I'm not so sure about the color. I work in a business casual environment - is the yellow really bright or more subtle? Does it fade over time?

Just to be anally retentively precise, those are ITS Hide soles, not Dainite. If you zoom in to the sole pic you can see the brand logo.

I don't think they'd fade and I don't think it's a very subtle look. It's a cool look though.

Another fun question - Compared to the Alden Barrie Lasts, how do the 4444 Last or 81 Lasts fit? I'm a size 8D on the Barrie Last.

Another fun question - Compared to the Alden Barrie Lasts, how do the 4444 Last or 81 Lasts fit? I'm a size 8D on the Barrie Last. 

10.5US Barrie
9.5UK 4444, a 9UK is a little too short but it's plenty wide enough.
10UK 81, a 9.5UK is a little snug.

I bought this shoe a few weeks ago and cannot be more happier! the yellow sole is not really that bright as it looks in the picture and after a while it also gets dirty so everything blends in well. These are the most complimented brogues I have ever had and I love mine to bits! Surprisingly the most compliments I have had on these shoes are by women hence I am loving them even more! LOL Here is mine after about ten wears.
