1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Can we keep this to the MTO thread please, it's getting very tedious now.

Now, those are beautiful shoes! You should be able to fashionably wear them for many years; timeless. Cheers!

Cool. I bought a pair like those last year off of ebay. It was a special make-up for Read's Footwear in the UK. I think the shop owner was selling off his leftovers. [IMG]

Lorcan7 and zippyh, I love both of those. I like the broguing on the smooth leather with a pebbled vamp. Too often I've seen oddly reversed examples.

I would just like to post about how great Richard at shoe healer is. He has been working with me tirelessly to find the right size for my boots and with some problems i had with the credit card companies. I would say that if you want a pair of shoes and great customer service to go along with that contact Shoe Healer

The service from Richard and Michelle is always exemplary - not my nearest stockist, but I'm more than happy to travel in order to deal with them.

    What boots did you get?

I was recently lucky enough to buy these Richard longwings at the bargain price of 173 pounds from a UK on-line retailer. The uppers are Wheat Cavalier. This is a waxy leather that I have not seen before. Does anyone have any tips for cleaning and maintaining cavalier leather?

I just use conditioner on my cavalier and chromexcel. I use Saphir Renovetour. I wouldn't use any paste wax on it. Just cream if it ever needs color. Nice looking lwbs.

Interesting. I got mine at Tricker's Jermyn Street store. Wasn't sure if it was a standard make-up or something they just happened to have kicking around.

Went there to size myself up for a pair of Stows but found the 4497 last doesn't agree with my feet, then noticed those Bowoods. You can see what happened next...

End or some one like that had a similar make-up with the smooth/grain swapped. They may have been Stows now that I think about it.

Thanks Zip. Because of the slightly waxy texture on the cavalier it looked to me that wax polish would not be the best option
