How do the monkey boots fit? Do I have to take a 1/2 size up?

I prefer them that way, I went for the grained monkey on commando sole

That last I find fits small. Some go tts.

I had resoled my Peanut Reverse Kudu Ethan’s as they were too heavy on double leather soles. With this I let also change the storm welt against a flat.
I chose a Dr Sole Raw Cord Sole. These are not light too, but without a midsole it’s much more flexible, in total lighter and looks much better. O‘Sullivans raw cord soles are even better than Dr Soles.
I wished that Trickers would use a flat welt.

Haha trickers doesn’t do that as they don’t have these soles. They did a double leather resole for me but after time it didn’t fit to these.
I wanted a lighter weight, more flexibility and a more true 1940s appearance ;-)

Just from my experience as I own an Acorn, the peanut reverse kudu and cipresso Shell on 5402R. I had to go up 0.5-1 (uk10).
last week I tried the new Moss kudu on 4497 in uk9 as this was my Stow size before. They were too small. I will go up 0.5 next time.
The Ethan on 5402 are narrower than 4497 and the toe part is more flat. Specially for the toe part I had to size up.
But each feet are different.

Will now try a Robert, Simon and James from sales. All on 2298.

To add to the 5402R sizing, the length of 8.5UK fits just right for a 9D brannock

The Olivia grain ones could be on 4497. they seem to be rounder at toe part. I didn’t check them before on Tricker’s site.
The 9-hole ones are 5402 for sure.

Can be. I’m not a mother tongue English speaker.
They look more to 40ies now.

And if it wouldn’t cost that much here, I would let rewelt all my Trickers to a flat welt.
