Thank you for this perspective! I’m now not sure but I don’t think I’d say my shoes are big there is some wiggle room, but I didn’t notice it would be too significant. I will pay attention now and see how slightly thicker socks behave. Have been meaning to get some Burlingtons anyway.
I wear 75%cotton/25% nylon socks made by Corgi and they last and last.

Good morning, would you recommend the best possible conditioner for regular maintenance of relatively new boots?

I have several boots from Crockett&Jones (Scotch Grain), Tricker's (Kudu, Calf), Edward Green (Utah and London Grain) so I prefer conditioner that would be suitable for all leather types I mentioned.

My only request is that it doesn't cause a lot of skin darkening.

Is Saphir Lotion or Saphir Nappa safe bet?

- Use shoe trees for as long as the leather is not dry after wearing.
- Use a brush to take off dirt and dust especially from the welt area.
- Use a damp cloth to clean them from dirt and salt.

With a good rotation shoes don't need care for a long, long time in my opinion, especially „relatively new“ ones. And I think, many folks do too much too often and too soon.
This pair of Coniston has been worn roundabout 20 days in a span of 1 1/2 years and I conditioned them for the first time now: #32,800
The product I recommend to you is linked there. Also read 32.803.

I use that product for all these leathers mentioned.

Avoid mink oil.

Yes, my boots don't need any conditioner at the moment, I'll find out in advance so I'm prepared :)

I rotate them and also use tress. The last thing I'm missing is a good conditioner.

My cobbler only sells Saphir products, so I'd like to stick with this brand. There's also a lotion without mink oil, and instead of it is macademia oil. Would that be a better option?

If I had to order conditioner online, many people recommended Bick4, but I don't have any experience with it either.

I will try found more information and reviews about that product because never heard about that brand and maybe I will add it to shortlist, thank you.

Both lotion or nappa will be fine for all your cases, nappa shouldn't darken the leather as much.

As I said: Avoid high concentrations of mink oil, if you don't want to darken the leather.
I also use Saphir 1925 cream and it's great. The Lumiere / Boot Black lotion I mentioned are less greasy.

Saphir are excellent products, use them, if they are more easily available.
I can also warmly recommend products by Famaco, Creme Delicate and Gelee Delicate in particular.

No experience with Bickmore that seems to be very popular in the USA.

I like them, but I have no a lot experience with them so I wanted advice which conditioner ist most suitable. If the @bemk hadn't advised me to avoid mink oil, I would probably go for a lotion that contains mink oil, and I would probably be very sad about the results.

@DorianGreen Thank you for these brands they are new for me as well, so I do some research about them.

Guys sorry for bothering. I contacted also EG about suitable leather care product because EG are my most expensive boots and they literally said that they don't recommend to use Saphir products on their leather.

I was almost decided to take Nappa Conditioner from Saphir but now I am on beginning. They recommend me to use their own cream, unfortunately shipping will cost more that cream itself. This is also reason why I wanted to avoid to Bick4 or another conditioners not available in local cobblers.

I think you're overthinking it.

Not surprisingly they recommend their own products, which wery likely though are produced by someone else.

They once sold Saphir creams and waxes for their footwear. Before that they only sold an old fashioned wax paste. Now, I believe their shoe care products are made by Boot Black of Japan. I agree that we can over think shoe care. Saphir products are high quality and you’ll be fine with them. Just don’t over do it with Renovateur - once a year is fine for that. Stick to the creams and wax pastes.

Yes! I have the neutral cream from Saphir as well as from Boot Black and they are pretty similar. The Saphir 1925 is a bit more greasy, but that's all and it's minor and it doesn't really matter.
