Marron and Espresso are probably the most versatile, where Acorn and C-shade are very casual.

My Acorn Stow's are probably my most worn boots. Only to the office I wouldn't wear them.

Gentlemen,
I’m looking to pick up my first pair of Trickers- the Bourtons. However, I’m not sure which color to choose. The acorn color is definitely eye-catching but I’m wondering how versatile it is compared to marron. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.
I have to say, I have a pair of C Shade Maltons and I LOVE the color and it works with everything... I haven't worn it with a suit, and frankly would never have considered doing so, but I like these boots so much that concept is creeping into my subconciousness.

Thanks for the replies. I intend to wear them with jeans and chinos; not a suit. However, I could see myself wearing them with sportcoat and odd trousers. I do like the uniqueness of the acorn color, but feel that it might be too loud. I did consider darkening the acorn color a few shades to tone down the brightness.

I used to think the acorn colour is unique. But i personally don't feel so now. That colour is done by Loake and Barker too on some of their shoes.

Die hard fans of acorn antique will probably disagree with this view

The Acorns look pretty loud in photo's, but since they're matte finished they don't jump out as much as you might think. Also the color fades a bit over time and you wouldn't want to wax polish them to a shine.

As part of an outfit, I don't think people notice them too much, especially if you don't cuff your jeans. I've got mine for about 6 months now and wear them casually (not much during summertime), and think they blend in with most outfits without any effort. I don't like drawing attention, but so far no one's commented or looked at me weirdly wearing my Tricker's Acorn.

My Red Wing Blacksmiths on paper looked more subdued, but did draw more attention and you have to think about how to style them. Overall I think brogues blend in easier in everyday casual wear than a work style-type boot.

Acorn Bourton is kind of *the* color to get but marron is probably more versatile. I wear acorn much more often than marron though.

I have a pair of acorn Chelseas that were fairly stark when new. They were described as "antique acorn" but they were just straight up acorn with no sign of antiquing. I hit them with some black polish to add the antique that should have been there which toned them down quite a bit.
