Any views on neutral v pigmented cordovan cream? Dark brown would match my shoes pretty well as they're the 'cigar' colour.

Its a very good question. I dont use any pigmented polishes on any of my shoes, whether its cordovan or calf. I'm just very cautious about not wanting to affect the original colour of the leathers, so i stick to using neutral polish only. Any views on if this a good thing or a bad thing?

I’m the same. I use neutral Saphir cordovan cream and I like the RM Williams neutral for calf.

I certainly don’t think it’s a bad thing, more likely a good thing. The only issue might be with darker colours such as Espresso or Cafe as these have a tendency to lighten in colour over time. The Trickers factory actually suggested to me that black polish should be used to maintain those dark shades.
