Tricker's just refer to it as having a clear protective top-coat but I guess it's more to make it waterproof rather than shiny.
That’s interesting. If it’s coated then it’s not something that’s noticeable. I wouldn’t let that put you off that type of leather. The main difference that I noticed is that it is a bit thicker than calf skin.

Never knew they made shoes out of motorcycle skins….
The GOLD MC (Manchester Calf) is a little thicker than standard boot calf leather and is designed to be used for hard wearing applications, including Motorcycle leathers, shoes and boots. It's not a corrected grain leather and will patina really well over time.

Just noticed this on the heel. It's my only pair of Tricker's this has happened on and I'm not overly concerned. Anyone else had this happen? Does it continue to worsen or just remain like this?

Have seen it on some of my other footwear. Doesn’t seem to have regarded much from the period in which I first noticed it though…

It looks like the top layer of the heel stack has been tapered off too soon leaving a stress point at the inside part of the heel. Like Mr Spud, I have had something similar on other brands though not quite as much as your Trickers. The problem has never worsened.

Yeah, I think you may be right. I'll keep an eye on it and contact the friendly folk at Tricker's CS if it worsens.

The Tricker's x Engineered Garments asymmetric shoes are the worst thing I've ever seen. Has anyone ever seen them and thought, great, I'm definitely going to buy a new pair of shoes and then walk around in them looking like I put on my shoes in the dark?

Call me old fashioned, but the idea of asymmetrical shoes is just ludicrous. I'm sure some fashionistas will get excited by them though.
