Nice to hear that you liked them.
Yes, they are MTO. There is nothing special/out of the ordinary about them I think, I just tried to have my first pair as simple as possible, but at he same time that extra toutch that goes well with what I usually wear. I have a high instep and I also need a wider fitting because of a MTO insole I have to use, so MTO was something I went for to get what I wanted... and needed :)

The barbour welt is actually "natural finish" but a mix of Saphirs black02 and cognac10 on the top of the welt and some more black on the side of the welt helped tone down the contrast to the Burgundy Burnished Calf and bring it all more togheter, but at the same time keep enough contrast. The lining is black calf, It might be a little dull, but I think it goes well with the "Burgundy/Black theme.

Already thinking of what next, this tread is full of inspiration and I will defintivly get me another pair of Tricker`s. I guess I will place a new order at The Shoe Healer in a month or two... no, make that just one month :)

    Those Eatons are awesome.

Are those plain toes? I seem to recall rkusmant asking about an Eaton without medallion and Tricker's quote an absurd upcharge of something like 2K. GBP.

Yes they are, with a straight cap with no medalion. But brouge details/puncing along the stitches are kept, also around the quarter and the heel. All stitches are black, including the stiches on the natural finished barbour welt.

Regarding the price, I got a very fair price and I dont`t think these boots cost more than the regular upcharge for a MTO order [IMG]

Hello folks. I'm hoping to acquire a quick bit of advice ...

I have acquired some Tricker's longwings. Fine shoes, but they have a light-natural welt, which after several weeks of deliberation I have concluded is just too light for my liking.

Does anyone know how best to darken the welt without discolouring the white stitching, or damaging the leather?

    Thanks in advance.

Any recommendations for hard-wearing laces? I've gone through two sets of Tricker's own laces on one pair of Bourtons in the past 18 months.

Try a couple of coats of Neatsfoot oil.

I think if Trickers now makes perf cap toe with no brogueing, we can certainly push it for group MTO

It`s been a few months since I placed the order and I`am not sure if the price I got at that time would be the price you have to pay today. I think you should send a e-mail to Richard at The Shoe Healer and ask him to give you an estimate, then you will get the exact numbers in no time, he usually is very quick to reply.

Regarding delivery I think it was approx. 10 weeks, it could be less, it could be more, I wasen`t promissed an exact delivery date.

Ravn, beautiful boots. You did a fantastic job in choosing colors and features. With the commando sole, do you plan to wear these in winter conditions - snow and/or rain? If so, have you tried them in those conditions, and how are they?

Yes, I`am actually wearing them in snow and rainy conditions this week. Teprature dropt from -18 to +2 in 3 days. Said that, I only use them in the city, but the Commando sole do an ok jobb on the slippery pavments. I can`t compare them with a Dainite sole since this is my first pair of Trickers, but so far I`m pleased with the performance of the Commando.

I read trough this tread before I choose the sole: http://www.styleforum.net/t/214139/dainite-soles-traction-in-winter

I guess I would not know for sure before I have had them for a couple of months. In Oslo it is 4 months of snow (Dec-March) rain in 4 (April and Sept-Nov) and rain/dry for the rest.

I think I will go for a Dainite sole on the next pair (just to get something different [IMG]), and regarding Barbour welt vs a Storm welt, I leave that to others to coment.

Thanks to the nice coments from all of you.
