Yes, the 4444 does appear pointier than the 4497. It also looks more symmetrical imo.

The model you're showing is Hermann. I did something similar : the Allan model in burgundy burnished.
    It looks like this :

Im not sure yet if I'll tone down more the welt. It came natural, but the contrast was way too high for my taste with the burgundy.
I should have done it on the 4444 last which fits me better.

Wes, this is the best explanation I've seen in one place. Thanks for posting this.

FWIW, my experience with the 2298 (not-Stows from STP and a pair of balmorals from Retrickers) is exactly the same as you describe with the 4497 - I find a full size down from US to UK to be too short, so I go only 1/2. This also was my experience with Richards from STP, though I'm not sure which last those are on; 2298, I think.

I might try your gel insoles idea, too.

Wow on those cordovan boots. I may email to find out the cost, although I'm sure I'll regret hearing the number!

The lollipop red cavalier is my current favorite leather.
    I would highly recomment it.

lasts 2298, 4497 and 4444 all require 1 size down, idk how you sized down .5

Thanks, that explains it then. I think I like the 4444 better than the 4497. I've been wearing my Eatons around all weekend and quite love them. I've been so obsessed with wearing them that I haven't even touched my new Alden Ravello LWBs. I guess I'll just wear those around the house until next weekend. It's a bummer owning such nice casual shoes and being required to dress on the dressy end of business casual for work. On the other hand, I guess I wouldn't be able to afford such nice casual shoes if not for work...

Released by custom. Now waiting for DHL bill. Happy about my sizing choice (first pair for me).

Guys, I talked to Richard regarding these boots:

He says if we can come to a consensus as to options (last, width, leather, etc) and get 4 people to buy them he could save us a considerable amount of money on them. :)

He asked me not discuss specific pricing, rather to email him directly. Maybe put my user name in the email so he can consolidate? I dunno, what do you guys think?
