What's up, yo? Just got my pair of Derby wing tip boots in coffee from Sierra Trading Post. Like others here, I got a screaming deal. I've always been an Alden man. This is my first pair of Tricker's and I'm freaking thrilled. I love 'em. They look way, way better in person than they do in photos and fit great. In fact, about fifteen minutes after I got them out of the box and on my feet, I logged onto STP again and bought a pair for my brother.

I want more. Can you guys steer me to the best place(s) for an American to buy Tricker's? Sierra Trading Post has a limited variety. I know about Retricker on Ebay, but I'd prefer to not buy irregulars. But I'd also prefer to not pay $700 for a pair of shoes/boots.

What do you guys recommend? Thanks. I'm very pleased to be a member of the Tricker's brotherhood.

I think zissou recommended https://www.shoehealer.co.uk/ as a good place to buy at a reasonable price.

I'd picked up the boots from STP as well (in the lighter brown shade, and a half size too small). They're nice, but I think I'd rather get Stows in acorn, so I'm returning rather than exchanging.

Also, the STP Tricker's in a UK 10 were long enough (albeit not by a lot), but they were too narrow in the toebox. Should I be ok sticking with UK 10 for Stows, or should I size up one to a 10.5?

I think I remember someone mentioning that Stows are shorter, but I don't know by how much.

Yo, yo yo! Someone here will surely clue you in on the best stores. But just wanted to say - don't be afraid of Retrickers. The "defects" on their seconds are almost always things you would never notice. The supposed defect on the pair I bought was that the leather was not colored exactly the way they want - but I can't tell at all. And they take great pictures, so you can see the shoes in detail.

..and I will add that with their crappy quality control and shitty shipping, STP beats the hell out of their shoes. The seconds I got from Retrickers were in way better condition than several firsts I tried from STP, and packed perfectly for shipping.

Great tips, guys. Thanks. And, KdmSimpson, thanks for the advice on Retricker. I'll definitely keep it on my list. I'm with Notwithit: I'd love a pair of acorn wing tip boots. On Bryan's excellent recommendation, I will definitely be checking Pediwear. Marcellionheart, I'll definitely be checking out Shoehealer. Thanks again.

^ as others have said, richard at shoehealer is the man. however, i've had a few pairs from retricker and the faults have all been really minor cosmetic issues- leather dye spilled onto the welt in a small patch, that kind of thing. really not noticeable, particularly after a couple of weeks' wear.
