Sad face because I haven’t even worn the Ashby I bought at the end of Winter and I’m already wondering if I should’ve gone with the Bedale.

Coming soon I think. Ridley grew up in the same town where Barbour's from

This must be a silly question, but I have been wondering, what happens to waxed Barbour jackets like the Bedale, Ashby and Beaufort, if they do not get re-waxed and just left as is?

Will they break down and fall apart? Akin to leather shoes cracking when left unconditioned?

2nd question, what would you suggest for light quilted jackets, preferably with a breastpocket?

Thank you.

Hey everyone,

I tried browsing through the forum to find an answer, but had no luck, so I figured I'd ask the thread:

I've grown quite fond of the Beaufort, but a bit torn on whether to go for the Olive or Sage. I've read that the Sage ages better, but the Olive has a better patina. I've also read that most people go for the Sage as that's what the royal family wear (don't know how factual that is), but I've also seen many a great photos on Instagram with the Olive...

I've tried both on at my local supplier and see that the Sage is shinier than the Olive (but read that the shine quickly dulls with regular use), but am torn between the two.

Any guidance would be appreciated!

Comes down to what you prefer I think. I personally prefer the olive

I have a Ashby for sale if anyone is interested. Size large, and is made in England.

I just got my Ashby but upon checking there's no country of manufacture, or at least not that I can find. I checked the tag in the pocket, (AW19) or if there's a tag near the collar.

Is there a way to know the country of manufacture among these codes? I'm curious to find out about mine as I've seen various reviews and would also like to make an informed observation and comparison. I have a classic Bedale that is my current favorite.

I'm pretty sure it's brand new as it came with all tags and it came from a reputable merchant, however I noticed that there is an odd smell, as if someone had worn it. I'm airing it out, and thinking of spraying alcohol on the insides.
