I think the Liddesdale are not good to compare to any of the wax jackets. they seem to have much longer sleeves.Hello, I am having some problems with sizing, I am going to buy an Ashby, the vendor insists that the XL armpit to armpit measurement is 22 inches, but that seams inaccurate.
For reference I own:
1.- Barbour International (the traditional one in black) size 44 (too baggy for me in the belly but OK in the arms)
2.- Barbour Liddesldale in L, fits well (attach picture with for your reference) (bought 8 years ago)
3.- Barbour Sapper (tailored): In XL, perfect fit
I use shirts in size 16.5x35 (tailored fit) in Brooks Brothers and Polo and Levi's jeans in 33 waist.
I will appreciate if some fellow member could help me.

Whats your height ?I think the Liddesdale are not good to compare to any of the wax jackets. they seem to have much longer sleeves.
Also, I think it is difficult to give a recommendation, because each body is very different, and also each Barbour model CAN fit different. I own Barbours in C34 and C36, but they feel almost the same fit-wise. I am slim with rather short arms and own:
- Beaufort in C36 and C34
- Border in C34
- Northumbria in C36
- Bedale in C34
Figure out a way to try them on somewhere or insist on a free return.

Looks like a well used faded sage to me, definitely some mileage on that. The faded collar edges are a giveaway. Can somebody tell me if this kind of green is sage or olive?
Next to another olive Barbour it loks very different, but it doesn‘t strike me as sage either.
Wdyt??
yepI found a great, almost brand-new black bedale the other day, so now I own 2 barbours: an old and beaten sage Beaufort and this new bedale. I reckon their finish is different (the bedale is "thornproof" and the beaufort is from before they made two different finishes), but I assume the wax to buy is the same? Sorry in advance if that question is asked a lot
The green is Sage and the brown is Olive.I have purchased an Ashby in olive from the very nice people at Dychurch.
I own a Beaufort in sage for 15 years (at least) and was eyeing the Ashby. The issue with the Beaufort is that I have long arms and had to send the jacket for sleeve length increase. Since then I have been very cautious with Barbour sizing. I had also worries wondering if olive is too similar to sage (and that seams to be a very common question on line).
Here some pictures with direct and indirect sunlight to confirm that sage is something near to "English racing green" (the green used in Range Rovers) and the olive is a brownish color. If you like the garment is worthy to have both colors. The Ashby in navy is in my bucket list.
