I just had a pair made and the pockets and excess fabric (and a bit of underwear depending on colour) is see through.
Is there anything that can be done about this?
Wear white long johns with it?

Depending on your comfort level, it could be quite fetching if you simply went underpantsless.

So my crotch would be showing instead? That sounds worse to me
Sorry, I was being quite tongue-in-cheeky.

There is little you can do about the pockets, if the fabric is already too shear. The best bet is wear under things that won't be too noticeable, and only wear these on bright and sunny days if you don't like the effect.

Get yourself some decent, all-white boxer shorts and that should reduce the contrast. You could also have the trousers lined but that will wear warmer, of course.

I tell everyone who orders light colored, cream or white trousers that you will have show thru and ask, are you ok with it?
Even when you line white trousers you have to use white lining which is also transparent and doesn’t help that much. When using white lining on trousers it also changes the tone of the white cloth and you see where the lining stops. If you only line the trouser front you get a darker shade in front and the back panels are lighter where there is no lining. The attempt to conceal the show thru is more problematic than the see thru.
If it’s an issue, wear them with a jacket.
Heavy white flannel or similar cloth is best way to avoid this.
Have used 13 ounce barathea for dinner jackets and this cloth has an amount of see thru of pockets and outlets
