ya i guess they aren't a low-rise..but they fit well when i tried them on (i tried on a one-wash w/ mild distressing in a 30..i'm thinking the dry will be the same)

knucks -- two more suggestions would be Nudie Straight Sven Japanese Selvage (they are available again) or Studio D'Artisan SD-103.

i mentioned the Svens bc you mentioned Ralfs. i've had Ralfs at one point and svens have a half inch to an inch lower rise in the back and front (15 and 10 respectively) and the leg is a true straight leg opening at 9 inches at the bottom. mine were pretty tight in the quads when i first got them, but have since stretched out comfortably (i have larger quads from cycling). when i wash them we'll see what happens lol.

i think the SD-103's might be perfect for you bc they have a slightly baggier leg and maybe a half inch higher rise in both the back and front, but still maintain a low rise slim look bc the ass curve (when you fold the jeans in half) is shallower. the front and back rise are 10.5 and 15 rerspectively, the leg opening is 8.5. the SD-103's stack better as a result of the smaller leg opening. BEAUTIFUL DENIM!

i'm thinking PBJ's might be too tight in the leg for you. im thinking you'll have the dilemna of if you find a pair that fits you in the quads they'll be too big for you in the waist. i had a pair for a couple of days before i sold them to my cousin, bc they were too tight for my liking in the leg.

on both jeans if they were any lower i'd feel like my crack was showing and i have a relatively flat one compared to you if iremember correctly the pic of you in your Crates.
