Oddly sized Polo jacket...

I found this beauty on eBay, and was giddy about the fit until I read the shoulder measurement. 20" on a 38S? Isn't that kind of...extreme?

I'm beginning to wonder if the wide shoulders are common on older Polo items. I've looked through a few Polo suits and sportcoats that are marked 38, and most have a shoulder sized between 19" and 20". A holdover from the big-shouldered days of the 80's?

As a 38R, the first measurement I look at is the shoulder. I've passed on many a jacket/suit because the shoulders measured out to 19 or 20 inches. I once took a gamble on one, thinking that perhaps it was a mismeasurement, but it really was 20 inches. Looked ridiculous on me.
