Let me demonstrate how it's done:

6x3DB suit
Missoni tie
A real puff on the silk square.

Not as much pattern mixing as on Manton's post, but the best I could do on short notice.

As a side issue, just how busy do you guys like your check shirts to be? What's the outer bound?

Manton,

What if on the first pic, you wear brown suede shoes to complete the ensemble?

My humble contribution:
Houndstooth with Orange OverCheck suit
White with yellow stripe tie
Deep blue wool madder tie
cream silk pocket square with tripple brown pinstripe edging
and ofcourse suede monkstraps.

No offense Oscar but I don't approve of your makeup in these pics. Way too Playskool in color for this ensemble.

One option as stated:
My humble contribution:
Houndstooth with Orange OverCheck suit
White with yellow stripe tie
Deep blue wool madder tie
cream silk pocket square with tripple brown pinstripe edging
and ofcourse suede monkstraps.
Another time with a cream fine wool turtleneck.

Another time with a pale yellow micro gingham shirt, dark brown donegal tweed tie with green specks.

Another time with cream pique shirt and ascot.

Much less jarring in real life than on the bolt. Pics from a distance show this

Any suggestions on how you would wear it?
