I noticed the dual vent while catching a glimpse of his victory speech. I thought he would have gone with single vent.

Indeed. Those are hardly mandatory requirements for anyone

Absolutely, but #menswear 'wisdom' says we have to load up on accesories at every opportunity...

What a senior politician wears is about communication with a larger number of people not conforming to what a tiny minority of style obsessives think. Obama looks sharp but without a hint of foppishness. He's trying to maximise his physical presence whilst seeming serious and businesslike. This suit is a far better cut than the things he used to wear. The colour is perfect and he's got everything right. I'm not surprised by what he says in Vanity Fair either (the title of that publication being particularly apposite in this context...); he's a policy wonk - the details he's interested in are the political ones.

If I recall correctly, Vox wrote in his coherent combinations thread that the extreme end of the city look is no PS at all.

Boring or not, this suit fits him so. much. better. than most of his other suits over the last several years. I'm a huge fan.
Actually, that's a great point about Martin Greenfield--that could explain the dramatic change in fit. I know he used to wear HSM, but if he switched to Greenfield, it would stand to reason that those suits would fit a great deal better...

Still should have a bit of cuff showing - maybe his arms are a bit too long for his shirts? I am not an expert on cuff length of jackets.

Who makes his shirts?

Is this an Oxxford suit? Any thoughts as to the maker? Looks nice

Essentially this is the prefect 'interview' outfit, without the lapel pin.
