NYC Tailor Problem - Peppino

Hello.

I brought a double-breasted jacket in to Mr. Peppino to shorten the length of the sleeves. Because of the unique shape of the sleeve, and the unusual buttons/stitching, he insisted on doing the work from the shoulders. After some hesitation, I agreed. When I picked it up, I noticed that he completely changed the shape of the shoulder -- all the "roping" was gone, and it was replaced by a softer shape. (In fact, one shoulder still had a little roping, and the other didn't -- which is even worse.) I pointed this out to him, and he begrudgingly agreed to a redo. When I picked it up the second time, there was no appreciable difference in the shape of the shoulder.

I would like to bring this to another tailor to fix, if possible. Can anyone recommend a tailor in NYC who has the skills necessary to restore the roped shoulder? Or is this not possible? Thank you.

Unless he cut away all (and then some) of the excess cloth at the upper sleeve that used to go around the rope, it should be possible to re-rope the sleeve. Remove sleeve, add sleevehead wadding, re-set sleeve.
