Nudie fits - Straight sven and Slim Jim

Hey guys,

I just tried on some Nudies today.

I'm inclined to think that they run very large. I'm a true 32, yet I fit great in the waist in the 30.

Anyway. I tried on the Straight Sven (30/32) in raw, and they seemed to fit awesomely - so they're a definite canidate, but I think I'd want to go 34 inseam to get some stacking going on.


My thighs are quite big (from sprinting), and so my thighs were pretty much painted on in the 30" Sven.

But what I was really asking is how I'd fit into a Slim Jim (through the legs mostly). Would I be fine upsizing to get the fit right in the legs? Or would the waist be far too large then?

i wasnt sure, so i bought my size (31) in each, and ended up selling the slim jims. the sven is not huge but the jim was just too tight. i fit into them both, so its not like the stories where i couldnt even get it up my thigh. When they were on, i could probably pinch .5" of fabric at the thigh. In the same size, the sven fit better, but if i sized up one (32) in the jim, it would have been fine aswell.

Don't think I could ever get a pair of Nudies unless a size 24 magically appears anywhere.

As far as I can tell, presuming we're talking about 2% stretch jeans here, the rule of thumb is if you want your Nudies to fit well after 3 months of solid wear, you're going to have to size right down and go through some pain for a couple of weeks, as stretch denim doesn't have a very good 'memory' (Iron Army claims to use 20% of a weaker stretch material with superior 'memory'). My girlfriend's old Guess stretch jeans sag round the ass after one wear because she bought them true to size.

From when i was considering getting a pair of Slim Jim, I learned that for a comfortable fit I'd have to size up the waist in order to make up for space in the thighs...

both the jims and the svens are 100% cotton, not stretch material.

My bad. In which case if they're tight you should be able to get a good inch of stretch out of them after a month or so... my 501s went up a full size to a 26 pretty swiftly after a month of wearing the top button undone. Depends on how much pain you're willing to go through to get as close a fit as possible. If you have big thighs and a tight fit it seems pretty likely from the myriad pics that get posted you will almost certainly blow out the crotch of a pair of Nudies.
