Is there a such thing as a double-breasted suit that has notch lapels rather than peak, OTR? I've only seen this once, on an episode of The Sopranos, worn by Tony Blundetto in the episode "Sentimental Education." It's the one where he finds $12G thrown on the street by some drug dealers.

And if there is, what's the consensus? Stylish or simply bizarre?

it's a disaster. it was popular, relatively speaking, in the 80's. especially with massive shoulders and armholes. check out robin williams in the fisher king - he wears an especially horrible number during the double date scene. if i remember correctly, it was some sort of pale cream or white 4x1 notch double breasted jacket.

The only time I remember seeing one was on Michael J. Fox in "The Secret of My Success" in 1980-something. I thought to myself "That looks FANTASTIC. I MUST get a suit like that when I get a job!"

Youth: thank God, we outgrow it.

They're in the class with polyester leisure suits; a sartorial disaster. Stay away, stay far, far away!
