I just stumbled upon this little monstrosity. A $70K platinum and diamond encrusted swiss army knife. Only 4 carats of diamonds... even at 70 grand, it still looks cheap.

I'll stick with my classic that cost less than $20.

I carry a Buck Trapper. It's a great knife that works well for life's cutting needs.

Personally, I own (not carry, hidden weapons not allowed) a Leatherman juice cs4 that apparently cost a lot more than I thought when I got it - I fear I was not grateful enough - and a no name Swiss army knife copy that has served me well over the years but could do well with a sharpening.

As for the topic, it looks cheap indeed. The lines of practicality does not go well with excess, I think.

I carry something very similar to this. It was my dad's. On top of its usefulness, it has some sentimental value.

The Tiffany is nice, but I'd be afraid to use it. I carry a small Case with bone handles made to look like stag.

I can find better things to spend 70 grand on. I've never even had a swiss army knife, I should get on, I bet they come in handy.

I happen to know where a guy (or gal) can order a very nice, handmade,, one-of-a-kind, "pocketknife" for around $1500.

Dennis FYI- I've carried a SAK on my keychain for as many years as I can recall (the under $20 variety). I can't remember the last time I needed to use the blade (I always carry one of my own) but the scissors, the toothpick, and the tweezers have come in handy on more than a few occasions.
