So, for some reason, my phone in NY is on a call list from a school in California I attended years ago. I just got an "alert" robo-call from the school announcing a campus-wide evacuation owing to a 7.8 earthquake. That's 1906, people. I swear to God, I felt my heart just plunge in terror. It must have been about 50 words in that they finally used the word "drill".

Someone should be fired for this.
