I ordered two pairs of AEs during the sale. They sent me a confirmation right away but said they had to ship them to their international distributor, FiftyOne, to ship them to Canada. After hearing nothing for a week I e-mailed and asked what was happening they said FiftyOne would send me a tracking number once they ship the order and it would be here on the 5th. Well the fifth rolled around and I heard nothing so I e-mailed again and they said they think the order was lost on the way to FiftyOne, and did I want to order again? I told them to forget it. They had 3 weeks to get me two pairs of staple shoes and they couldn't even handle that. Very disappointing.

That's too bad. I couldn't justify the extra $100 duty, customs and shipping fee for one pair of Park Avenues which negated the savings from the sale. In the future, are you going to order them online from another retailer or pick them up next time you're down south?

Sorry to hear about the OP's misfortunes. The only issue I had when I ordered my AEs from the Nordstrom sale is that I'm still waiting for the shoe trees I ordered at the same time. Other than that, it was flawless (took a week to get from the US to Australia).

Mine was an extra $100 too but I ordered two pairs so it was worth it; $500 for two pairs of new AEs firsts. Each are $400 plus tax in Canada so they would be have been $904 with tax at Harry Rosen.

I think next time I'll just go to Nordstroms and buy them like I usually do when I'm state-side. This time I opted to to buy them online because they included duty and all that nonsense upfront in the price. Those fees usually prevent me from buying online because sometimes items show up on my doorstep and all the extra fees are 50%-200% of the purchase price; and it seems to depend on the weather, the shipping company and what side of the bed the customs broker woke up on, among other seemingly unrelated factors influencing the tax on good from the United States.
