I found this jacket 50% off in Black, size 40s. I never wear jackets, so it fit pretty good over just a shirt. However it was a little constrained when lifting my arms. But i decided to buy it. So when i try and open close the car doors while sitting down, and swip into my garage i feel that the jacket is going to rip. However it may be stretching out and adjusting.

Is this a good style jacket? Do they all fit like this? Could i find anything better for $230?

If the jacket is "constrained" when lifting your arms and you feel it's going to rip, I suspect it's too small for you.

I have no issue with the style of the jacket.

Different brands and, even, different styles within the same brand will fit differently.

Living in Texas and rarely needing jackets, I am far from a good source on prices/quality of them. Perhaps others can offer better suggestions.

The coat is a 40S, i normally wear 42R. However the 42R had way too much room in it. I believe the S only applied to the sleeve length which was altered.

I really like the style since I can wear it to my business casual work, and out at night with jeans.

I just think the sleeve holes go really low to it contracts movement.

The 40S is too little for you and it may rip. Was the sleeve Lengthen or shorten?
Did you try on the 42R while wearing a sweater or suit jacket?

I tried on the 40S with a Jacket underneath it. I had the sleeves lengthened 3/4". The 42R was way too big.
