I've been taking Piracetam, Choline Bitartrate and L-Theanine for about 9 months now. I didn't notice any cognitive or memory enhancing benefits until about 3 weeks into taking the Piracetam. I started taking Piracetam to help with brain fog issues, as well as an "Auto-Pilot" feeling that I get due to Complex Partial Epilepsy. Anyways I'm not suffering from brain fog quite as much however, I'm still having issues with my anxiety. Considering Piracetam and L-Theanine are both anxiolytic I figured they would help a bit more than they have, however I'm finding that anxiety still creeps up on me and I am wondering if anyone has any experience in Nootropics, and other natural herbs that can be used to help with Anxiety.

Thanks!

what do you mean by "auto-pilot"?

Bacopa extract (standardized to at least 20% bacosides) enhances cognition and is anxiolytic but I haven't used it yet.

I'm actually taking Bacopa Monnieri at the moment. It seems to work well - most days I do feel a subtle "sharpness" that may have not been there previously.

I take a laundry list of supplements - continuously rotating & experimenting with new ones. For that reason I've tried quite a few nootropics & cognitive support remedies including Gingko, Krill Oil, and ALCAR + ALA.

Truthfully I've yet to find one with a "HOLY HELL IT WORKS!" type of feeling. Yes, in general I do feel more cognitive power but not to the drastic level I hope for. Perhaps I'm cycling off them too quickly or dosing too low. On the other hand, some of the anti-stress supplements I've taken (ashwagandha, holy basil, etc) have worked incredibly well and exceed expectations. One time I bought a proprietary super-blend of nootropics (google "Lee Swanson Intelligence Enhancer"). It may have been the wonder pill we are looking for, but frankly the taste was intolerable and it was giving me headaches so I discontinued use. I'm generally a huge proponent of herbal supplements and their effectiveness, however in short I'm still looking for the perfect nootropic.

One last note - I think improving my diet has been just as beneficial, if not more so, in terms of increasing intellectual ability and mental function in comparison to supplements. To maximize results I suggest a combination of both. Javyn - a frequent contributor to this forum - is extremely knowledgeable about supplementation and can probably help you as well.
