Okay, this may be a crazy idea, but I was wondering whether it would be possible for Style Forum to acquire 501Â[IMG](3) nonprofit status so that all contributions to the Forum would be tax deductible.  I recall from my nonprofits class in law school that a nonprofit must (1) serve a charitable purpose, and (2) not disburse profits to shareholders (but may pay officers a reasonable salary).  I am a litigator, so that is the extent of my knowledge.  Any lawyers well-versed in this area of the law care to weigh in?

We could be seeing the making of: "The Ministry for the pursuit of Sartorial (and streetwear) Knowledge" Pastors Jeremy and Steve could do Sunday morning telecasts which include healing the sartorially lame. [IMG] Jon.

Even bad clothing should be avoided when it comes to full-immersion baptisms. I recall a very, very ugly sight when my father was tossed in the lake during a party, while wearing a bright white Farrah Leisure Suit. Not a picture any son should have to witness. Ever. [IMG]

I've been through this process (501Â[IMG](3)) before, and while I can't remember all the details, I do recall that it required a good deal of hoop-jumping. Â Here's the basics from the IRS's website:

Actually, I believe we do the opposite of that.
Manton and disciples may believe that this is true [IMG] Unfortunately, the hoodie advocacy on the Streetwear/denim forums may be doing quite the opposite [IMG]

Yes, it would have to be education and historical/cultural preservation -- something along those lines. Talk to a nonprofit law attorney -- there must be precedent for nonprofits that primarily operate a website as the "business."
